Log It or Lose It

Move It Sefton has teamed up with Merseyside Police this year to make sure you don't lose out to thieves - so make sure you log it or lose it!  Don’t lose out to thieves this year, register your bike, mobile, iPod, TV or any other gadgets on Immobilise_postcard_copy_copywww.immobilise.com.  Immobilise is the world’s largest FREE register of possession ownership details and helps to reduce crime and returning recovered personal property to its rightful owners. This online checking service is used by all UK Police forces to trace owners of lost and stolen property.

Either register your details on the Immobilise site or print and complete this simple form and This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it back to us.  There is no limit to the amount of items you register on Immobilise. In the meantime, read these helpful hints on how you can help yourself:

Thieves frequently operate:

In car parks

Around bus stations

In overcrowded areas, especially at rush hour

In dark secluded areas

Be aware and keep your possessions safe:

Don't display expensive jewellery, mobile  phones or cameras

Don’t make your mobile phone a moving target

Don’t tempt mobile phone thieves, be aware when making a call

Reduce the risk of mobile phone theft by following these simple tips:

When you leave a train or bus don’t use your phone immediately, leave it a while

Don’t walk and text at the same time; you will be less aware of what is happening around you

Keep calls in public places as brief as possible -- the longer you talk, the more likely you are to be spotted by a potential thief
